MADURAI: A team of office-bearers of the BJP’s Madurai urban district unit today met Madurai district Collector Dr.S.Aneesh Sekhar and urged him to take steps to display the photo of Prime Minister Mr.Narendra Modi in all State government offices in Madurai district and in Madurai Corporation offices.
On 25th April 2020, Madurai City BJP president Dr.P.Saravanan led the party’s team to district collectorate here and submitted a representation to the district collector asking him to ensure that PM Modi’s pictures are displayed in government offices in Madurai district. The BJP also demanded that property tax rate increase must be withdrawn immediately. Another point raised by the Madurai BJP is that Rs.One crore relief assistance should be given to the families of two persons who died in the stampede during the recent Chithirai festival stampede that took place in Madurai city when Lord Kallazhagar was entering into Vaigai river.
Similar compensation was also demanded for the families of corporation workers who died while doing corporation work. BJP Madurai Urban district office-bearers and representatives from various wings of the party were among those present when BJP Madurai City president Dr.Saravanan made this representation to Madurai district collector here today- on 25th April 2022, Monday.
