New Vice-Chancellor of MKU: Governor appoints Dr.J.Kumar

MADURAI: Dr.J.Kumar has been appointed as Vice-Chancellor of Madurai Kamaraj University (MKU) by Tamil Nadu Governor and university Chancellor Mr.R.N.Ravi today- on March 29th 2022, for a period of three years with effect from the date of his assumption of office.

Dr.J.Kumar is currently serving as UGC BSR Faculty Fellow at Crystal Growth Centre in Anna University, Chennai, according to a press release received from Raj Bhavan today. He has more than 29 years of rich training and research experience at Anna University and has successfully completed more than 20 sponsored R&D projects. Dr.J.Kumar has two patents to his credit and has successfully organized more than five international events. He has also published more than 160 research papers in peer reviewed international journals and had guided 25 research scholars.

Dr.Kumar has held several administrative positions such as Director of Centre for Technology Development and Transfer and Director of Planning and Development. He has also served as Registrar in-charge and has been instrumental in implementing several administrative reforms. He visited 15 foreign countries for academic and research purpose besides carrying out collaborative research and teaching at foreign institutions, the press release added.
