MADURAI: The newly elected ward councillors of Madurai Corporation took oath on 2nd March 2022 at the swearing-in ceremony held in the corporation building ‘Anna Malaigai here in the morning. Madurai Corporation Commissioner Dr.K.P.Karthikeyan administered the oath to new councillors. There are 100 wards in Madurai. Special LED screening was done to show the oath taking event to family members, relatives and visitors who gathered in large numbers.
Madurai MP Mr.Su.Venkatesan, MLA Mr.Boominathan, Public Relations Officer Mr.Sali Thalapathi and senior corporation officials from various departments were among those present.
There are 100 wards in Madurai Corporation and councillors were elected in the urban local body elections held on 19th February 2022.
