MADURAI: The Tamil Nadu Chamber of Commerce and Industry had organised a post-budget analysis meet in Madurai on 8th February 2022 inviting senior chartered accountants to speak on the important points of Union Budget 2022-23 which was presented by the Union Finance Minister Mrs.Nirmala Sitharaman in the Parliament on 1st February 2022.

Dr.Gopala Krishna Raju, Chartered Accountant, spoke on changes in direct taxes and said that more time was given to update and file income tax returns.

“While no income tax concession has been announced in the union budget, some changes have been made to provide relief to income tax payers. The additional tax on long term benefit tax on financial assets which was 37 per cent earlier has now been reduced to 15 per cent. A 30 per cent tax on crypto currency income would also be included in income tax regime to provide information on crypto currency income and other digital assets,” he said.

Chartered Accountants and GST practitioners Mr.J.Balasubramanian and Mr.G.Saravanakumar had elaborated the changes made in Goods and Services Tax with effect from 1st January 2022 and they answered queries raised by the members of Tamil Nadu Chamber of Commerce, according to a press release here today.
