MADURAI: The ‘Save MKU Coalition’ has today demanded that the names of 10 persons who have been shortlisted for the post of Madurai Kamaraj University Vice-Chancellor must be revealed to the public in order to avoid creating any sort of suspicion on the process of shortlisting of candidates. It has also appealed that there should not be political or money or any other powers that influence the Vice-Chancellor selection.

In an important press release issued from Madurai on 26th January 2022, the secretary of ‘Save MKU Coalition’ Prof.Dr.R.Murali has urged the members of the VC Search Committee and the Chancellor of MKU to ensure that the selection process is transparent and does not compromise on integrity.

“We have learnt that the names of 10 professors have been shortlisted for the post of Vice-Chancellor of MKU by the search committee. We appeal that the method followed in shortlisting the 10 candidates must be revealed to the public. Only an academically qualified honest person must be appointed to head the Madurai Kamaraj University which is the oldest university in Tamil Nadu and is also facing severe academic and financial crisis,” Dr.Murali said.

The ‘Save MKU Coalition’ has also appealed to the MKU VC Search Committee and higher education authorities to publish the marks awarded to shortlisted members in the website along with assessment categories.
