Railway pensioners adalat held in Madurai; 57 grievances settled immediately

MADURAI: A special Pension Adalat-2021 was organized in Madurai on 15th December 2021- to redress the grievances of railway pensioners in Madurai Railway Division. This adalat took place at Railway Kalyana Mandapam here, in which 57 representations, grievances and appeals of railway pensioners were addressed instantly on the spot. Totally, 106 pensioners attended the railway pensioners adalat and they took 94 grievances to the attention of railway authorities of Madurai railway division, of which 57 were settled immediately.

Mr.Padmanabhan Ananth, Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) of Madurai Division, had asked the senior divisional employees welfare officer Mr.Sudhakaran and deputy finance officer Niveditha Devi to hold pensioners adalat and look into the grievances of railway pensioners. According to a press release received from the Madurai Division here today, 37 grievances were not taken into consideration since they were not in line with the existing rules and norms. After hearing the grievances, the railway officials had settled pensioners’ grievances at this adalat and the total amount was Rs.7,08,018.

Also, the divisional railway authorities who are handling employees welfare are further studying 14 more grievances received at the pensioners adalatheld today in Madurai. Railway officials in the employees welfare wing Mr.Sivanathan and Mr.Ramakrishnan were present at the pensioners adalat organized in Madurai by the railways.
