TN Chamber signs MoU to promote food processing business opportunities, ideas

MADURAI: The Tamil Nadu Chamber of Commerce and Industry has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with National Institute of Food Technology, Entrepreneurship and Management (NIFTEM), Thanjavur, on 15th December 2021 to promote new and innovative business ideas in food processing sector. Opportunities in food processing will be tapped effectively by members of the chamber, existing business and industrial entities and budding entrepreneurs. The MoU was signed by Chamber president Mr.N.Jegatheesan and Dr.C.Anandharamakrishnan, Director of NIFTEM-Thanjavur here today.

The Tamil Nadu Chamber and Agro Food Chamber of Commerce and Industry have jointly organized an interactive session on ‘opportunities in food processing sector and new schemes / incentives announced by Union and State governments’. This session was held in Madurai on 15th December 2021 in association with NIFTEM-T which is functioning under Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Government of India, a press release from TN Chamber here, has said.

Dr.C.Anandharamakrishnan, Director, NIFTEM-T, who was the chief guest for the interactive session, had explained in detail about opportunities, incentives and schemes available in food processing sector. Mr.S.Rethinavelu, president, Agrofood Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Madurai, and Mr.J.Selvam, secretary, Tamil Nadu Chamber of Commerce and Industry, were among those who spoke.
