MADURAI: The medical team of Railway Hospital in Madurai was felicitated for their exemplary commitment and devotion in treating COVID affected patients from railways, railway staff family members, railway pensioners, police and general public. A press release received from the Southern Railway’s Madurai Division here on 26th October 2021 had informed that Divisional Railway Manager Mr.Padmanabhan Ananth had felicitated the members of this medical team of Madurai Railway Hospital by presenting cash award and appreciation certificate to each and every member in the team.
The Tamil Nadu State government had earlier permitted the railway hospitals in Madurai and at Perambur in Chennai to treat COVID patients. Accordingly, the Madurai Railway Hospital medical team had provided treatment in an appreciable manner, the press release added. The medical team consists four medical officers, four nursing staff and four paramedical staff. They were given group award by the Southern Railway General Manager Mr.John Thomas and group award was received by Dr.Giri Prakash at the recently held Railway Week celebrations in Chennai.
Appreciating the devotion of every member of this medical team in treating COVID affected patients, the Madurai Divisional Railway Manager Mr.Padmanabhan Ananth had felicitated each and every awardee. He also congratulated the medical officers and staff for having bagged the overall medical department efficiency rolling shield among the railway divisions, the press release said.
