MADURAI: The Vice-Chancellor of Madurai Kamaraj University Prof.M.Krishnan is waiting for the appointment of Tamil Nadu Governor-Chancellor Mr.Banwari Lal Purohit to formally complete the formalities before taking over as the new VC of Central University of Tamil Nadu (CUTN) at Tiruvarur. The appointment of TN Governor is expected anytime tonight and in all probability he will meet the Governor on coming Monday, sources told ‘Lotus Times‘ news website here on 24th July 2021- Saturday evening. A three-member special committee has to be formed immediately before Prof.Dr.M.Krishnan leaves the MKU and that Convenors’ Committee will look after the regular daily administrative affairs of Madurai Kamaraj University (MKU) here. The President of India Mr.Ramnath Kovind has appointed the MKU Vice-Chancellor Dr.M.Krishnan as the new VC of Central University in Tamil Nadu for a period of five years through an official order, which was received on 23rd July 2021. “We are waiting for the TN Governor’s appointment and maybe in likelihood our VC Prof.Dr.M.Krishnan will assume charge as Central University VC at Tiruvarur on Monday evening or on Wednesday morning. Before that, a committee of Syndicate members will be formed in MKU to look after day-to-day affairs,” a senior official has said here today.
