COVID vaccination camp at Madurai GRH for pregnant women

MADURAI: An exclusive vaccination camp was conducted in Government Rajaji Hospital (GRH) in Madurai on 5th July 2021 to administer COVID vaccine for pregnant women. Madurai Corporation Commissioner Dr.K.P.Karthikeyan had inaugurated theis special vaccination drive in the presence of GRH Dean Dr.Rathnavel, doctors and nurses.

A press release received from Madurai Corporation today informed that 50 pregnant women were given the corona prevention vaccine in this first phase today and more pregnant women will be administered COVID vaccine in coming days in stages on vaccine availability. “There will be no side effects at all for preganent women with this vaccine. They should come forward and get vaccinated. All out frontline workers already got vaccinated. So there need not be any hesitation. The COVID will not have any side effects for newborns too. So, nothing to worry,” the Madurai Corporaton Commissioner Dr.Karthikeyan had exhorted the general public in his awareness message at COVID vaccination camp in Madurai GRH today- on 5th July 2021.

Corona vaccination camps were being conducted at Urban PHCs and select centres by the Madurai Corporation to prevent the spread of corona cases in the city.
