MADURAI: Empty rakes are permitted to be run on the famous Pamban Rail Bridge till 14th July 2021. Vacant empty coaches can be operated as per safety certification issued as of now, according to information received from the Madurai Division of Southern Railway here today- Sunday. With this permission, the train coaches can go upto Rameswaram railway station and maintenance works can be done there at Rameswaram. Trains with passengers are not yet permitted on Pamban Bridge, according to press statement issued in Madurai on July 4th 2021. Rail traffic has been suspended on the Pamban Bridge for past few days to carry out technical repair maintenance works on the track.
