MADURAI: The Tamil Nadu Foodgrains Merchants Association has made an appeal from Madurai today- on 28th June 2021- to develop a railway station that exclusively caters to AIIMS Hospital coming up at Thoppur in Madurai. On behalf of the association, a request letter was sent to the Union Railway Minister Mr.Piyush Goyal today by association president Mr.S.P.Jeyapragasam.
“Our Prime Minister haf laid foundation stone for the AIIMS hospital facility being set up at Thoppur in Madurai. At present, basic – infrastructure works were started. We request the Union Railway Minister to start creating a railway station for Madurai AIIMS hospital facility….for the convenience of general public / patients and all those who come to Madurai AIIMS. It will be very useful for people of southern districts, for the commuters travelling to Madurai for going to the AIIMS here, and to all commuters,” Mr.S.P.Jeyapragasam, president, Tamil Nadu Foodgrains Merchants Association, has appealed in his press statement issued from Madurai to the Union Railway Minister on 28th June 2021- Monday.
