Oxygen plant opened at Madurai Railway Hospital

MADURAI: V.R.Lenin, Divisional Railway Manager, Southern Railway Madurai Division, has today  inaugurated the new oxygen generation plant set up at a a cost of Rs.50 lakhs at Madurai Railway Hospital in Madurai on Saturday- on 26th June 2021. Mr.V.R.Lenin, Divisional Railway Manager, Madurai Division Southern Railway here, had declared open the new oxygen plant in Madurai today.
This is the first such plant provided in railway hospitals over Southern Railway. This new plant has the capacity of generating 250 litre of oxygen per minute, according to a press release received from the Madurai Division of Southern Railway here today.
This oxygen plant sucks the fresh air from outside and then removes the moisture in the air. The purified oxygen after segregating the nitrogen stored in two large cylinders for supply to the needy inpatients in the Railway Hospital. So far, liquid medical oxygen was received through lorries and utilized after purification. This is the second oxygen generation plant in Madurai city and the first one is available in Government Rajaji Hospital (GRH) in Madurai city.
 
 
Mr.Lalit Kumar Mansukhani, Additional ivisional Railway Manager, Dr.R.J. Bhaskar, Chief Medical Superintendent, Dr. Revathi, Dr.R.Gridharlal Narayanan, Dr. P.Ramanathan and Williams Jai, Senior Divisional Engineer were among those present.
