MADURAI: The prestigious Madurai Kamaraj University (MKU) in Madurai has no full-time Registrar for the last two years. On 26th June 2021 (Saturday), several academicians and MKU well-wishers spoke to the ‘Lotus Times’ English website lamenting about the pathetic situation of a reputed higher education institution in Madurai that a full-time Registrar could not be found for the varsity for over two years.

“Many important posts  in MKU are running on in-charge basis……And, one such post is Registrar. Why is it so difficult to select a new Registrar full-time for our MKU which is a nationally reputed University with Potential for Excellence tag institution? In the last two years, from the year 2019, our university is having Registrar in-charge only- Dr.Sudha, Prof.Sankar, Dr.Vasantha……and our question to the higher education authorities is that why are they finding it so difficult to find and to appoint a fulltime Registrar for Madurai Kamaraj University?,” an academician in Madurai had questioned. The ‘Lotus Times’ is finding out the reasons and articles will be published in the interests of all stakeholders of higher education. www.lotustimes.org
