Kalaignar Memorial Library in Madurai: TN Chamber thanks CM Stalin

MADURAI: The Tamil Nadu Chamber of Commerce and Industry has welcomed the announcement of setting up of Kalaignar Memorial Library with modern facilities at Madurai at an estimated cost of Rs.70 crore. It has thanked Chief Minister Mr.M.K.Stalin for this important announcement made on behalf of the Government to mark the 98th birth anniversary of former Chief Minister ‘Kalaignar’ Karunanidhi on 3rd June 2021.

Mr.N.Jegatheesan, president, Tamil Nadu Chamber of Commerce and Industry, has issued a press statement on 3rd June 2021 stating that: “Dr.Kalaignar has dedicated himself and his entire life to Tamils and Tamil language, for Tamils living all over the world. On behalf of trade and industry and the general public, the TN Chamber welcomes the
announcement of setting up of a modern Kalaignar Memorial Library at Madurai, in 2 lakh sq.ft. area with modern facilities at an estimated cost of Rs.70 crores, in honour and memory of Dr. Kalaignar, who was fond of reading books,” he said.

Mr.N.Jegatheesan had further stated that this modern library will ensure that lakhs of students from southern districts of Tamilnadu may use this library to enhance their knowledge which paves avenue to participate in various competitive examinations and to get good results.

The TN Chamber has also welcomed the other announcements such as “Ilakkiya Mamani Award” with a cash prize of Rs.5 lakhs per annum to encourage Tamil writers, to provide a house through government housing scheme for writers from Tamil Nadu who have received famous awards and free bus passes in urban government buses for transgenders and differently abled persons.
