4th Oxygen Express arrives in Madurai Kudal Nagar

MADURAI: Medical oxygen supply for southern districts in Tamil Nadu is continuing in full momentum as the fourth Oxygen Express had reached Kudal Nagar rail station in Madurai today morning -on 29th May 2021. The Oxygen Express with two tanker lorries carrying 31.02 metric tonnes of liquid medical oxygen had reached Madurai today coming from Rourkela in Odisha.

A railway press statement received from the Madurai Division of Southern Railway here today has informed that this was the 29th oxygen express that has come to Tamil Nadu to meet the medical oxygen needs during this present COVID period for requirements of hospitals / patients in southern districts of Tamil Nadu.

So far, totally 1,734 metric tonnes of liquid medical oxygen was supplied to Tamil Nadu through rail. The Indian Railway is working in full swing to carry oxygen to various places in the country for Corona treatment urgent needs and 300 Oxygen Express trains were deployed, carrying 20,000 metric tonnes to different destinations in India by rail network.
