Siddha care centre opened at American College for COVID patients

MADURAI: In an important step taken by the new DMK government in Tamil Nadu to step up treatment facilities for Corona patients, a 200-bed Siddha Care Centre for giving treatment to COVID patients was opened in American College campus in Madurai on May 17th 2021 (Monday).

This Siddha centre to treat mild patients with Corona virus infection came up with joint efforts of Madurai Corporation, Tamil Nadu Chamber of Commerce and American College, Madurai. Mr.K.N.Nehru, Minister for Municipal Administration, Tamil Nadu government, had inaugurated the Siddha care centre in American College here on 17th May 2021 in the presence of Mr.P.Moorthy, Commercial Taxes Minister, Mr.N.Jegatheesan, president of Tamil Nadu Chamber of Commerce and Industry, chamber senior president Mr.S.Rethinavelu and American College Principal Dr.M.Thavamani Christober.

A press release received from the Madurai Corporation here today had informed that Siddha treatment methods will be provided to those who are mild COVID patients. Isolation facility is there, five Siddha doctors will be there 24X7, siddha doctors will be there round-the-clock in shifts and patients will be staying for 10 to 14 days to undergo treatment at this special Siddha care centre in American College in Madurai.

Herbal concoctions like ‘Kabasura Kudineer’, immunisation boosters, breathing exercises, yoga, herbal soups etc would be given to those who are undergoing treatment at this centre. Among those present at the opening of this Siddha care COVID care centre at American College include MLAs Thalapathi, M.Boominathan and A.Venkatesan besides the Madurai Corporation Chief Health Officer Dr.Kumaraguruparan.
