MADURAI: In a very crucial development, questions are going to be asked about the alleged injustice being done to the Dalits -Scheduled Caste staff in Madurai Kamaraj University (MKU) in Madurai. The Social Justice and Human Rights Unit of Madurai City Police in Madurai will gather full information and grievances from two aggrieved SC staff of Madurai Kamaraj University- on 29th January 2021- at the Madurai City Police Commissioner’s Office on Alagarkoil Road here- at 10 am.

The enquiry or investigation into the complaint against MKU authorities was based on a grievance complaint lodged by MKU employees Mr.Raman and Mr.M.Vellaikannu. University sources told ‘Lotus Times‘ website on 27th January 2021 that the complaint went to the National Commission of Scheduled Castes and to the National Human Rights Commission because the basic grievance is that INCREMENT/ PROMOTION were stopped for the last three years and hence the intervention of National SC Commission etc was sought to do justice for the affected two employees. (Information available says that Mr.Ramanan was appointed in 1990 while Mr.Vellaikanni appointed in 1985).

A petition was sent to the NCSC and NHRC seeking justice following which the Social Justice and Human Rights Unit of Madurai City police has been asked to gather full details from the two affected MKU employees- Raman and Vellaikannu- at the earliest.

On 29th January 2021, Mr.Vellaikannu and Mr.Raman will submit their grievances and also seek justice to SC employees in the university.
