Is MKU Vice-Chancellor going to be Central University VC?

MADURAI: There is a lot of buzz that the final selection and choice of appointment of a new Vice-Chancellor of Central University of Tamil Nadu at Thiruvarur will be made in two or three days. Sources told ‘Lotus Times’ Website on 16th January 2021 that the present Madurai Kamaraj University Vice-Chancellor Dr.M.Krishnan’s name is figuring in the final list of names given to the President of India.

Higher education sources in Chennai said today that: “MKU Vice-Chancellor Dr.M.Krishnan’s name is being very seriously considered by the Central government. He attended the interview held on 8th January 2021…….If the news coming from Delhi is accurate, the MKU Vice-Chancellor Dr.M.Krishnan is in all probability may be appointed as Central University VC in Thiruvarur in Tamil Nadu. The President of India will take the final decision in a day or two,” sources in Chennai said today.

Prof.R.Karpaga Kumaravel is now the acting VC of Central University of Tamil Nadu (CUTN) at Thiruvarur. He is a former Vice-Chancellor of Madurai Kamaraj University (MKU) in Madurai. Three names were given to the President of India by the interview panel after holding interviews with eligible applicants and sources have confirmed that Dr.M.Krishnan’s name is in wider circulation in the national capital right now.
