MADURAI: It was a proud moment for the Madurai Corporation today as it was presented with a national award for water management by the Union Jal Shakti Ministry of Government of India, during the 2nd National Water Awards event held from New Delhi on 11th and 12th November 2020.
A press release received from the Madurai Corporation here today had informed that the Corporation Commissioner Mr.S.Visakan and his team here were commended for their proactive role in water management- water requirements of Madurai city residents.
Union Minister of Jal Shakti Mr.Gajendra Singh Shekawat and Minister of State Mr.Rattan Lal Kataria were among those who had appreciated the Madurai Corporation at the 2nd National Water Awards- 2020, where Best Urban Local Bodies were recognized and awards given in recognition of their water efforts, the press release from Madurai Corporation here on 12th November 2020, has said.
