Madurai Smart City: Corpn Commissioner inspect sites

MADURAI: As Madurai Smart City project works are being undertaken at a fast pace, Madurai Corporation Commissioner Mr.S.Visakan along with senior officials had visited a few places here today- on 23rd October 2020. His inspection today assumes significance because of the upcoming festival season and the expected public rush / crowding in these areas during the shopping time.

A press release received from Madurai Corporation today informed that Mr.S.Visakan went to South Masi Street (near the famous Meenakshi Temple) / and surrounding areas where Smart City Project works are being implemented in Madurai city to build up civic infrastructure. Mr.S.Visakan had enquired about the cement roads/ underground drainage facility being created in this locality and asked the officials about drinking water supply mechanism that is coming up around Meenakshi Sundareswarar Temple.

Totally, projects worth Rs.45 crores are being done in this temple surrounding areas – East Masi, North Masi, South Masi and West Masi streets near the Meenakshi Temple in Madurai. Storm water drainage system, underground drainage, drinking water supply 24X7 etc were among those during today’s inspection by Madurai Corporation Commissioner Mr.S.Visakan on 23rd October 2020.

Among those present along with the Madurai Corporation Commissioner during his inspection ahead of Deepavalai festival rush include senior officials Mr.Arasu, Mr.Sekar, Mr.Murugesa Pandian, Mr.Arockiya Xaviver and others, according to the Madurai Corporation press release received here today- 23rd October 2020.
