MADURAI: In order to create awareness among the Railway staff and officers about COVID 19 precautions, staff and officers took a pledge on Thursday (08.10.2020). V.R.Lenin, DRM administered the pledge to Railway officers and in turn the Railway officers administered the same to their staff at their work spot with social distancing.
The pledge says that the railway staff will always be vigilant and bear in mind at all times ‘the risk to myself and my colleagues from COVID-19’ and promise to take all necessary precautions that prevent the spread of this deadly virus, follow and encourage others to follow the key COVID appropriate guidelines such as always wearing of masks/face covers especially when in public places, maintain a minimum distance of 6 feet from others, wash hands frequently and thoroughly with soap and water. “
With these precautions, we will win this fight against COVID-19. These precautions are being aired through public address system and displayed through posters at all important railway stations so as to create larger awareness among travelling public. This campaign will continue so as to alert the travelling public,” Divisional Railway Manager of Southern Railway Mr.Lenin has said, a press release from the Madurai Division of Southern Railway on 8th October 2020, had informed.
