MADURAI: As a part of Corona prevention and control measures, the Madurai Corporation has started more proactive measures. On 25th August 2020, it has appealed to the residents of Madurai city to cooperate with regard to disposing of used FACE MASKS.
Madurai Corporation Commissioner Mr.S.Visakan has issued a press statement here today urging the people to ensure that the used masks durin this COVID-19 drive are kept separately and give the used face masks to corporation sanitary workers so that the used masks are taken with all precautions to Madurai Corporation’s Vellakkal garbage disposal site near Avaniapuram.
To start with, the Madurai Corporation is focusing on public places such as bus stands etc and 500 spots will be covered to collect the used masks separately and dispose them off in a proper manner that goes with the Corona control guidelines.
“Starting from your homes, please keep the used face masks separately. Please don’t throw the used face masks in public places. Separate dustbins and collection of used masks has been worked out by Madurai Corporation. Safety measures are in place in Madurai city for COVID-19 control. Facemasks, hand wash using sanitizers and social distancing are a part of Corona control protocol,” the Madurai Corporation Commissioner Mr.S.Visakan has said in the press release issued here on 25th August 2020.
