MADURAI: The debate being held now about Madurai as second capital can be looked at from a new wider angle. The erstwhile good growth well-performing Andhra Pradesh was bifurcated / split into two Telugu-speaking States- as Telangana and Andhra Pradesh – just a few weeks before the 2014 general elections and parties competing to get Lok Sabha majority. The BJP and the Congress did their part at that time in the Parliament.
Now the talk is about Madurai is for second capital of Tamil Nadu. Why not think of creating a new State comprising of nine southern districts of Tamil Nadu, form it as a special State, with ancient Madurai as its capital? Will the AIADMK think on those lines if it is really for southern districts’ progress and development? Is the BJP playing any games here like it is doing in Andhra Pradesh now? Instead of Madurai as second capital, make it a State capital for a new State. form SOUTH TAMIL NADU. AS ‘PANDIYA NADU‘.
