MADURAI: The Civil construction works of a huge Madurai Convention Centre at the famous Tamukkam Grounds in Madurai city are going on in full swing.
On 17th August 2020, Madurai Corporation Commissioner Mr.S.Visakan, along with senior officials, has inspected the works at Tamukkam Ground here, a press release from Madurai Corporation has informed today.
A huge Convention Centre is being constructed at Tamukkam Ground at an estimated cost of Rs.46 crores under the ‘SMART CITY’ project initiative with facilities for exhibition, meetings, seminars and vehicle parking. While the Tamukkam Ground area spreads to 9.68 acres of land, this convention centre comes only in a particular area where construction is taking place now from basement parking for vehicles etc.
