Retd Rly employee stabbed in Madurai for his cellphone

MADURAI: A retired railway employee who was going on morning walk in Madurai today morning was stabbed on his head by bike borne two-members for snatching his costly mobile phone. On 14th August 2020, Mr.Selvam (age 62yrs and worked as a technician in railway) was on his regular early morning walk at Madakulam main road. He is a resident of Periyar cross street in Madakulam in the city.

Two unidentified persons came on a bike from behind and hit Mr.Selvam, stabbed him on his head. The incident took place near PG students hostel at Madakulam here. Selvam fell down and the two members tried to take away his cell phone. He resisted and even hit the two persons. However, they managed to escape by taking away his mobile.

Local people informed S.S.Colony police station inspector Mr.Chakravarthy, Immediately police reached the spot, sent Mr.Selvam to nearby hospital and police are tracing the culprits by taking CCTV footage.
