MADURAI: An important office-bearer from Scheduled Caste community has brought to the notice of ‘Lotus Times’ news website here today- on 13th August 2020- that Madurai Kamaraj University (MKU) employees, contract workers, consolidated staff etc belonging to the SC and ST Dalit community are being given the ‘first punishment’ by the university administration because of caste politics in the campus.

“This is the situation today of Dalit employees in teaching and non-teaching departments of MKU. The Vice-Chancellor Dr.M.Krishnan knows that. From attender level to assistant professor, there is a feeling of insecurity among SCs and STs. If any complaint comes against against a SC staff, all the Syndicate members attend in full strength to take action against us. But for our appeals, who will be there,” an office-bearer from SC community in MKU lamented today. (More details will be available from SC-ST Welfare Association in MKU soon).
