TN Chamber wants total lifting of lockdown in TN

MADURAI: The Tamil Nadu Chamber of Commerce and Industry has urged Chief Minister Mr.Edappadi K.Palanisami to take steps for lifting of all COVID-19 lockdown restrictions in Tamil Nadu from 1st August 2020 in the interest of State’s economy. A press release was issued by TN Chamber president Mr.N.Jegatheesan and senior president Mr.S.Rethinavelu in this regard yesterday,

“With the expiry of the current lockdown duration in the State on 31st July 2020, we make a strong appeal to the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Thiru. Edappadi K. Palanisami for removal of all COVID 19 curtailments including passengers vehicle movement restrictions within the State, they said in the press statement and pointed out that 130 days of persevering lockdown has literally suffocated trade and industrial activities and caused extensive economic impairment throughout the State, not to speak of the substantial loss of employment.

VEHICLE MOVEMENT:

The press release also said that for marketing purposes, businessmen have to travel at least within the State. “Hence there should not be any passenger vehicle movement restrictions within the State. For public transport, worship places, theaters, festival meetings etc., where people congregate in large numbers, some needed restrictions may be put in place. Hotels with accommodation and malls should be allowed to function,” the Tamil Nadu Chamber of Commerce and Industry has appealed to Chief Minister Mr.EPS on 27th July 2020.
