

MADURAI: The news telecast in Tamil news channel ‘Puthiya Thalaimurai’ on 13th July 2020 about the West Tower opening after 80 years in Madurai Meenakshi Temple is totally wrong and incorrect, a press release from Meenakshi Temple here today has clarified to the devotees and general public on 18th July 2020.
Joint Commissioner and Executive Officer of the famous Sri Meenakshi Sundareswarar Temple in Madurai has said in a press statement here today that the West Gopuram and North gopuram entrance is being opened every year during the time of ‘Kumbhabishekam’ for temple priests and devotees and these entrance kept closed only for security reasons.
“The West gopuram west tower entrance of Meenakshi Temple is opened during every ‘Kumbhabhishekam’ of this temple. The news given by ‘Puthiya Thalaimurai news channel is wrong,” the temple press release said here today.
