MADURAI: Two prestigious names have come together to offer a specialized B.Com course that is industry relevant and prepares industry-ready graduates.
IT services major Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and Thiagarajar College, Madurai, have signed an MoU to introduce B.Com in Business Process Services from this academic year 2020-21. It is an industry integrated degree program that focuses on making students readily employable.
Dr.D.Pandiaraja, Principal, Thiagarajar College (Autonomous), said today- on 14th July 2020- that B.Com Business Process Services is being introduced because it has a plenty of scope as it blends commerce and business processes in a manner that suits the industry needs.
“We are happy to launch this course in collaboration with TCS. The MoU was signed last month and the syllabus was designed in consultation with TCS experts. The Board of Studies for B.Com Business Process Services course will have members from the TCS also. College faculty members will be trained by TCS team,” Dr.Pandiaraja has said.
Totally 40 students will be admitted and admissions would start online after the Plus Two results.
Dr.I.Nagarajan, Head, Department of Commerce, Thiagarajar College, has informed that interested students have to submit the applications online after they get the Plus Two results.
“Students who do this course will be preferred in business process enterprises especially TCS and other companies. It is a three-year degree course. Once students complete this course, companies like TCS will give them jobs,” Dr.Nagarajan added.
