MADURAI: Immediately after assuming charge as SP of Madurai district today, Mr.Sujit Kumar IPS began on a people-friendly note by saying that he will be available round-the-clock and any information or complaints can be given on his mobile phone WhatsApp number.
“I am giving my WhatsApp number today 94981-12113. If the public gives any information or complaint seeking the intervention or help of district police, I will immediately follow it up,” he told reporters after taking charge in Madurai on 12th July 2020.
Mr.Sujit Kumar has assured that the police department will maintain good relationship with the public and the first priority before him is to work along with district administration in implementing Corona control measures especially in all containment areas.

“Minor child marriages, female infanticide etc will be prevented in Madurai district and police will work along with Madurai district authorities. The large crowds at TASMAC wine shops in places where there are lockdown relaxations in the district will be controlled in a strict manner, he added. Mr.Sujit Kumar was earlier Superintendent of Police of Coimbatore district and was posted to Madurai district as SP two days ago.
