Madurai Collector inspects fever checkup camps in city

MADURAI: Special camps for testing fever cases in Madurai city are being conducted in various localities here daily. Madurai District Collector Dr.T.G.Vinay and Madurai Corporation Commissioner Mr.S.Visakan today- 8th July 2020- inspected a few places where medical camps were held. They went to Alwarpuram, Managiri Vandiyur and Pudur Manmalaimedu areas this morning, according to a corporation press release here.

Special medical camps are held daily at 155 places as per a schedule prepared by the corporation at 31 Urban Primary Health Centres and through 16 mobile medical units. Siddha and Ayurveda camps are also being conducted for the benefit of people.

The focus of these camps is to detect fever cases and provide immediate treatment as a precautionary and preventive measures for Coronavirus control in Madurai city. People with cold, cough and blood pressure are being attended to quickly through these daily special medical camps, the press release added.

Siddha concoction ‘Kabasura Kudineer’ is being distributed to residents at their doorstep to increase immunity power. The Madurai District Collector Dr.T.G.Vinay and Madurai Corporation Commissioner Mr.S.Visakan urged people to wear facemasks and follow social distancing norms.
Among those present during today’s inspection were Corporation Health Officer Dr.Kumaraguruparan, Mr.Ismail, PRO Mr.Chithravel, nurses and health inspectors.
