MADURAI: Mr.Prem Anand Sinha IPS today took charge as new Police Commissioner of Madurai city here today morning and assured that ensuring of good relationship between police and public will be one of his top priorities.
After assuming charge as Madurai Police Commissioner, he spoke to reporters here and listed out his plans and priorities.
“The behavior of police towards common public should be good and proper. Harsh words should not be used when people come to police stations. I will ensure that police will be friendly towards public and at the same time we will be tough in prevention of crime in Madurai city,” Mr.Prem Anand Sinha has said.
Stating that the role of police in implementing Corona lockdown and COVID-19 issues has been very effective, he said that it will continue in the same manner. Public grievances will be attended quickly, law and order gets top attention, cyber cell will be strengthened and easy access for people with police would be ensured, he added.
The new Madurai City police commissioner also said that technology will be used in a big way in policing and CCTVs in public places, more vehicle-checks will be given very high importance.
Mr.Sinha further said that he will look into the welfare of police personnel and mental stress among police will be addressed, He was earlier Additional Commissioner of Police (Law and Order), Chennai.
