MADURAI: The information about the prestigious project – All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS)- which is coming up at Thoppur in Madurai was published in the Gazette of India on 3rd July 2020.
“Publishing in the Gazette of Government of India is an important official announcement. Once it comes in the gazetteer, it is certain that the project will be coming 100 per cent for Madurai. It is a good thing,” Madurai MP Mr.S.Venkatesan told ‘Lotus Times’ news website over phone today evening.
Madurai AIIMS has been sanctioned by the Government of India and is coming up at a cost of nearly Rs.1,300 crore. Prime Minister Mr.Narendra Modi had laid the foundation stone here for Madurai AIIMS on 27th January 2019. Works are underway and required land was allotted and steps taken for funds to complete the construction of AIIMS in Madurai.
