MADURAI: A telemedicine centre was started in the Madurai Corporation headquarters building here to provide medical advice and counselling through doctors and trained nurses for Corona patients. (FOR INFORMATION CONTACT: 84284 – 25000).
Senior IAS officer and special Corona control monitoring officer for Madurai district Dr.B.Chandramohan had inspected the telemedicine centre at ‘Arignar Anna Maligai’ (Madurai Corporation headquarters building) here on 2nd July 2020 and also had a discussion to prepare a focused, specific strategic action plan for the month of July to carry out Coronavirus control measures and prevent COVID-19 cases in Madurai.
If there is facility at home, the affected Corona patients are being advised and allowed to go for home quarantine depending on the patient’s condition and medical advice. Doctors and nurses will be in regular contact with those who are undergoing home isolation-home quarantine. Treatment and tele counselling will be provided to them.
The Madurai Corporation has also started mobile medical camps and door-to-door fever surveillance in Madurai city. Special teams comprising filed workers are collecting fever data. The bed strength at Thoppur Hospital here is being increased.
Earlier, Dr.B.Chandramohan had enquired about the work being done by fever surveillance teams and mobile medical camp at Vandiyur area in Madurai city today. Among those present were Madurai District Collector Dr.T.G.Vinay, Madurai Corporation Commissioner Mr.S.Visakan, Corporation Deputy Commissioner Mrs.Nagajyothi, Assistant Commissioner Mr.Premkumar, ACHO Dr.Vinodh Raja, PRO Mr.Chithravel and others.
