MADURAI: The Congress Party held a protest in Madurai on 29th June 2020 condemning the daily hike of petrol and diesel prices.
Party cadres and district office-bearers staged a demonstration in front of Tallakulam Post Office in Madurai today and lashed out at the Central Government for fuel price hike since it affects the common man.
Mr.V.Karthikeyan, president, Madurai District Congress Committee, led the protest here against price hike of petrol and diesel prices. The Tamil Nadu Congress Committee had given a call for protests across the State on this issue and accordingly the party functionaries in Madurai had organised a demonstration raising slogans against the Modi government for putting the common people to hardships.
TNCC Srare EC Member Mr.Syed Babu has said that the issue of fuel price hike is very serious and it is being opposed to protest the interests of poor people, middle class and lower middle class in particular.
Among the Congress Party functionaries who participated in the protest in Madurai today include Mr.Rajahasan, advocates Bismillah Khan, Subha Venkat, general secretary Maheswaran Paulraj, circle president Murugan, social media coordinator Senthilkumaran and NSUI Ragul.
