Lockdown in Madurai: 5 arrested for playing cards

PICKED UP BY POLICE FOR PLAYING CARDS IN MADURAI.

MADURAI: The Nagamalai Pudukottai police in Madurai have arrested five persons for playing cards in public place and violating the total lockdown rules announced by the Tamil Nadu government for Corona control measures.

Based on information received, the police have stepped up vigil in Nagamalai Pudukottai area during the current Corona lockdown in effect from 24th June to 30th June.

Yesterday, the five persons were found playing cards (with / for money). The gamblers were arrested by the NPK police at Sambakulam in Madurai and taken for questioning on 27th and 28th June 2020, sources said here today.
