MADURAI: Congress Party functionaries and cadres in Madurai district had carried several welfare measures today – 19th June 2020- on the occasion of 50th birthday of Rahul Gandhi.
While the party did not celebrate his birthday because of the death of 20 Indian soldiers in the fight against Chinese forces, it had however distributed welfare assistance to physically challenged persons besides planting of 500 tree saplings at various places in Madurai district on 19th June 2020.
Madurai District Congress president Mr.Karthikeyan and party office-bearers took part in the service activities. Among those present include senior party functionaries Mr.Kamaraj, Mr.Syed Babu, Mr.Ravi, Mr.Bismillah Khan, Malar Pandian, Paul Joseph, Ebenezer, Sundar Kasirajan, Senthil and Balraj.
