
MADURAI: Three vegetable shops in the central vegetable market at Maatuthavani in Madurai were sealed at midnight last night after a sudden inspection by Corporation authorities on 15th June 2020 midnight.
The shops had violated social distancing norms for Corona control and the Madurai Corporation Commissioner Mr.S.Visakan took this decision for public health reasons.
Madurai Corporation teams are maintaining a close vigil on markets meant for fruits, vegetables and fish, a press release from corporation today- 16th June 2020, had informed, Ten persons who came to the wholesale vegetable market last night without wearing face masks were also fined with Rs.100 each, the corporation press release said today.
The inspection team that is closely watching Corona control measures in public places, markets etc include Corporation Assistant Commissioner (Revenue) Mr.Jayaram Raja, senior official Mr.Mani and others.
