MADURAI: When the Bofors scandal allegation was at its peak in India, the nation had looked towards top legal luminary great lawyer Ram Jethmalani and great journalist Mr.N.Ram of ‘The Hindu’ for the sensational corruption at that time.

Shastry V Mallady was a B.Com student in Vivekananda College at Mylapore in Chennai in 1988. Great Ram Jethmalani came to Madras in 1989 to address a meeting on Bofors scandal and along with him on the stage was Mr.N.Ram.

I went to that public meeting on that day and met Ram Jethmalani in person the same day because he spoke on the anti-corruption movement and gave details about Bofors scandal that affected Rajiv Gandhi’s government. ‘MY BLOOD IS BOILING’ was the call given by late Ram Jethmalani in that year from Madras Mylapore. I took his autograph in my little autograph book from that big person in 1989.

When Shastry V Mallady went to Delhi for post graduation, the great Jethmalani asked me to come to his residence (he was a Member of Parliament) and gave an interview to me because I was taking up journalism as my career and waiting for admission. Those days inspire met always. MY BLOOD IS BOILING. Because he told me that there should be no scope for corruption in any department and India comes first. The youth must fight.
