MADURAI: The Madurai Corporation is aggressively implementing Corona prevention measures and one of them is putting spot fine for those who are not wearing face masks.
On 11th June 2020, spot fine was collected from 275 persons at various places in Madurai city, covering all the four zones. A press release from Madurai Corporation here today has informed that Rs.27,500 was collected as fine for violation the compulsory face mask rule.
Ever since the Corporation has started imposing fine of Rs.100 for each person, a total of Rs.3,84,100 was collected as fine amount, the press release said adding that the Madurai Coporation Commissioner Mr.S.Visakan is instructing the officials and staff to closely follow the implementation of this norm in offices and all public places.
