MADURAI: In a shaming incident that took place in Madurai, a youngster had put a small petty shop on fire since the shopkeeper had refused to give cigarette picket without paying money. This incident took place at Atchampathu near here on 26th- 27th May 2020. Nagamalai Pudukottai police here have arrested him and enquiry is going on. The shop was gutted in fire.
One person by name Gunasekaran had asked shop owner Bhoominathan for a cigarette packet saying that he will give money later. The shop owner refused to give a cigarette packet and angry Gunasekaran had put the small shop on fire. The petty shop owner Bhoominathan complained to Nagamalai Pudukottai police station in Madurai and a swift action was taken by arresting the accused.
It was learnt that there are already cases against Gunasekaran in Karimedu and Tallakulam police stations in Madurai.
