MADURAI: The two-month long Coronavirus lockdown has already postponed several marriages since functions/ public gatherings were not allowed and temples- marriage halls were closed ever since the countrywide shutdown was declared in the last week of March 2020.
Since the marriage ‘Muhurtham’ season is getting over, 38 simple marriages took place outside the famous Tirupparankundram Murgan temple in Madurai today- 24th May 2020.
The temple was closed but the wedlock happened in the lockdown today- in the presence of only a few family members- and the auspicious time saw marriages taking place in public- on the street- before the temple in Madurai today.
