MADURAI: The mandal president of the BJP’s Thiruppalai Mandal in Madurai Mr.A.Annamalai has given a police complaint alleging that he was physically assaulted in the office of Madurai Rural District BJP at Melamadai here in the city on 12th May 2020.
Mr.A.Annamalai, mandal president of Tiruppalai Mandal in Madurai, has approached the police complaining that he was hit in a closed room of Madurai Rural District BJP president Mr.Maha Suseendhran. He had immediately filed a complaint demanding a thorough probe at the Anna Nagar police station here fearing for his life safety and of his family. (The issue was that he has been working actively for the party and getting a good name).
“Maha Suseendhran called me at 7.15 am on 12th May 2020 asking me to come to the rural district party office in Melamadai for a meeting. I went there…I was called inside by CBose…….I was attacked physically and my PSO rushed inside to bring me out of the room. After that a letter was sent to the police to withdraw my PSO. There is no safety for me now. I am afraid of BJP Madurai Rural District president and some of the party office-bearers,” Mr.A. Annamalai, BJP mandal president of Tiruppalai mandal in Madurai, told ‘Lotus Times’ website on 22nd May 2020.
Stating that he is a committed worker of the party, Mr.Annamalai said that the name of Tamil Nadu BJP State Secretary Prof.Dr.R.Srinivasan was used before attacking him in the party office of BJP Madurai Rural.
When contacted for his reaction, Prof.Dr.R.Srinivasan has denied the allegation by stating that he do not remember seeing mandal president Annamalai. “I am not connected to this incident and it is surprising that my name was dragged into this,” Dr.Srinivasan said.
It was learnt that the BJP State Secretary Dr.Srinivasan resides in BJP Thiruppalai mandal and hence his denying that he does not know who is Annamalai is a total lie and absurd. Besides filing a police complaint, the victim had also written a letter to the Tamil Nadu BJP State president and the State headquarters pleading for justice to him.
