MADURAI: Fine was imposed on 259 persons today in Madurai city by the corporation inspection teams for not wearing face masks.
Each person was fined Rs.100 and a total of Rs.25,900 was collected on 22nd May 2020, according to a press release from Madurai Corporation here today. Corporation Commissioner Mr.S.Visakan had already announced that wearing of face mask is compulsory in public places as a precautionary and preventive step to stop the spread of Corona virus.
Corporation inspection teams and police have stepped up surveillance across the city and accordingly fine is being imposed. Today, fine was imposed during inspection in all the four zones of Madurai Corporation today.
