MADURAI: Ramanathapuram– Supaul ‘Shramik Special’ train which left Ramanathapuram at 1 pm had left from Madurai Junction railway station at 3.45 pm on 21st May 2020 and will reach Supaul (in Bihar) at 5.15 pm on 23rd May.
Totally, 456 stranded migrants at Ramanathapuram and 1,144 stranded migrants at Madurai are travelling in this train, according to a press release from Southern Railway Madurai Division, here today.
Proper screening of passengers was ensured before boarding the train and social distancing will be maintained during travel. During the journey, passengers were provided with food packets and water bottles. The district administration and railways ensured orderly departure of the workers from here.
Dr. T.G.Vinay, Madurai District Collector, Mr.Lalit Mansukhani, Additional Divisional Railway Manager, Mr.V. Prasanna, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Mr. M.Bharath, Divisional Commercial Manager, Southern Railway-Madurai division, were present at the railway station, the press release here informed today.
