MADURAI: Congress party leaders in Madurai have today demanded police action against BJP leader Mr.Karu.Nagarajan for using derogatory, indecent and foul language against woman Congress MP Ms.Jothimani during a TV debate on News 7 Tamil news channel yesterday.
On behalf of the Madurai District Congress Committee, its president Mr.V.Karthikeyan, Tamil Nadu Congress Committee member Mr.C.M.Syed Babu and others have given a written complaint at Anna Nagar police station in Madurai on 19th May 2020 seeking action against Tamil Nadu BJP State office-bearer Mr.Karu Nagarajan.
“The language and abusive words used by BJP’s Karu Nagarajan in the television debate yesterday is an insult to women. He had personally targeted our Congress MP Jothimani who was elected by the people from Karur Lok Sabha constituency. Even though the debate anchor-journalist asked Karu Nagarajan to take back his words and personal utterance against woman MP Ms.Jothimani, he refused to do that,” the Congress leaders’ complaint in Madurai police station has said.
The Madurai District Congress Committee leaders have pointed out that the BJP representative in the News 7 Tamil Channel debate could not answer the questions politically and hence he had intentionally resorted to using foul language against Ms.Jothimani.
“Since such a language was used in a TV debate watched by lakhs of viewers, we want the police to take action against Karu.Nagarajan of the BJP for hurting and insulting Congress MP publicly,” the complaint lodged by Congress party leaders in Madurai today said.
