250 KG MUTTON SEIZED, 4 MADURAI SHOPS SEALED

MADURAI: Four shops were sealed and 250 kgs of mutton and fish were seized by a Corporation inspection team and police in Madurai city today- 17th May 2020, Sunday.

Madurai District Collector Dr.T.G.Vinay had already announced that meat shops in the city should remain closed on Sunday as a Corona preventive measure to avoid crowd and gathering. But these four shops had violated the order and were opened.

Corporation Commissioner Mr.S.Visakan had ordered the inspection team to seal and lock the four shops opened at Karimedu (Ward 13) and Manjal Medu Colony (Ward 14), according to a press release from the corporation today.

Sanitary Inspectors Jayakumar and Ramanathan along with local police and sanitary workers had sealed the four meat shops here this morning.
