MADURAI: Three shops in Madurai city were today locked and sealed by the Corporation authorities and police for violating the social distancing norm which is important in preventing spread of Coronavirus.
The shops are located at East Masi Street and East Marret Street here. On 15th May 2020, Madurai Corporation authorities had carried out inspection at various places in the city during which they found crowds at these three shops.
“Police had filed a case and corporation officials have sealed the three shops based on orders from Corporation Commissioner Mr.S.Visakan,” a press release here said.
Among those who were in the inspection team include Assistant Commissioner Vijaya, assistant executive engineer Sharbuddin, sanitary inspector Murugan and assistant revenue officer Rajaram.
