50 kg mutton seized, three shops sealed

MADURAI: Corporation inspections team and police have sealed three mutton shops and seized 50 kilos of mutton and fish during an inspection carried out in Madurai city today morning (10th May 2020).

The District Collector Dr.T.G.Vinay had already announced that meat shops should not be opened on Sunday in order to prevent crowding. Lockdown restrictions are already in place to prevent the spread of Coronavirus cases.
According to a press release from Madurai Corporation here today, three shops were found open and they were sealed by authorities following orders from Corporation Commissioner Mr.S.Visakan. The sealed shops were in Ward 10 (Velalar Cross Street), Ward 13 (Antony Street) and Ward 44 (Manjalmedu Colony).

Sanitary Inspector Mr.Ramanathan and police along with sanitary workers have sealed and seized meat from these three shops for rule violation.
